A good one , been taking a multi since I don't know when at whose instance I don't remember. The fish oil is one my practitioner has recommend and I wonder what it's done for my heart other colorful farts .
You are right about Cosco and Sam's and Walmart a long isle of many brightly colored bottles full of some of the strangest concoctions . Just the other day I saw a new one , cinnamon dressed up as a health regime mixed with just enough other ingredients to give it a minor super power . Not sure who will buy it but it would not be there without some serious articles in the Daily Mail and others touting its worth .
If I may I'm stealing this line especially the last phrase and passing this one on to others
" It is built tediously, from what one eats, how one lives, and what one refuses."
Good call, as always. What puzzles me is how to strike a balance between suspecting every sales pitch as an utter BS designed to sell some garbage and listening for recommendations on the real deal
I see you’re paid, I extended you 90 free, but I’m still not sure why you are seeing a paywall. Sometimes people don’t click through to the app from the email promo it says and that can cause a problem. Let me know
Well that essay was a kick in the gut. I take lots of supplements, relying heavily on the placebo effect, which is proven. But it doesn't work for supplements? I like taking supplements, they make me feel better mentally, as if I'm doing something healthy. What else would I do with my money? Gamble it away? Eat it away and grow fat? I give enough to my kids and grandkids, don't want to spoil them. My wife would spend it all on our youngest of five kids, the one who lives home and doesn't work. I want that daughter to work!
I’d just read the Jama study and figure it out. It’s not as black and white as I’ve said. Folic acid is good so if you ever get pregnant- men can do that I am told.
Good point about the kidneys. I take medication that requires periodic blood testing of the liver and kidney enzymes. All normal. But folk need to read up on possible side effects of supplements, and how they interact with medications.

It's difficult. My concern with this is that people think that taking pills gives them licence to eat crap.
By the way Paul I'ma paid subscriber but I see these paywall requests for money en masse anyway, i can live with it but it's frankly annoying
What’s your email ? You shouldn’t see them.

Lol
I don't know , Steve... Maybe a good cause? I'd offer myself, 3 kids, work, no parental support, but I don't beg 😅
I think the author's point is that the kidneys aren't happy with useless stuff either, so take care!
