A briliant parody of your experience, Paul, and I have forwarded it to my niece, who has had a similar experience at the hands of the Canadian military. I encourage you to publish this one as a book, after much condensation and consultation with a copyright attorney. You definitely have a potential new career as a writer. Like my niece, however, you are understandably obsessed with your situation, and I hope to be around long enough to see both of you grow past that condition.
We need to enjoy our families, our animals and our shalom bayit (peace in the home). We need to make new friends. In your case and in my niece’s, you need to find new sources of both income and joy. What’s done is done, whether or not it stank to high heaven. Life is too short to dwell on our misfortune and the idiocy of the ’system' for too long. Look at Israelis and their resilience. Yes, they are surrounded by murderous enemies and have to suffer dubious leadership, but they still live their lives to the fullest. They 'dance again'. You will, too!
I'm putting together two essay collections, one more on Israel and my issues, and I insisted that this one go in it, though you and I might be the only ones who read it to the end.
Yes you are right. Yesterday I told my prospective lawyers I would not go forward, the risk is too great, not just financial risk but psychological risk, I dropped the labour board and HRTO actions. May God bring justice, may He take vengeance, but the fight is too costly, for my marriage, my health, my faith. I will continue to write and let things play out as they will. I regret nothing, I have fought a good fight, the more information comes in, the more injustice seems clear, but sometimes institutions cannot be defeated. Maybe there will be a miracle, they can keep the work, it is too dangerous to go there anyway, but I am going to focus on other things. My hope is that the truth will get out there but carrying it has become too heavy a burden. I have much to be grateful for, I will not survive, I will prosper. They can marinate in their lies, but I will not join them.
I am glad to hear you making peace with the fact that not all battles are winnable, and life is probably better concentrating on worthwhile things. I am reading more histlory these days, and it is giving me better perspective. This after using Regency romances, of all things, as my blue blanket for about a year after Oct. 7th. If you are at all into American history, I am loving Doris Kearns Goodwin’s “An Unfinished Love Story”, about her husband’s involvement with JFK and LBJ as their speechwriter. Fascinating look at the 60s US pollitical scene. I am a dual citizen, and grew up in Appalachia, so it is fun to relive that decade as something other than a student.
It is complicated and I am not at liberty to discuss it, but she also got screwed by inferior intellects wielding undeserved power, and is waiting to be kicked out, basically.
Megyn Kelly’s favourite movie is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. You should send this to her.
No response. She's a big cheese, it takes more than I have to get noticed.
I sent it to her
I will thx

What happened with your niece ?

I’m sorry
Reminds me of my experience 40 odd years ago with the CAF. No compassion just a machine that grinds you up and spits you out if you have a problem.
