I certainly did not see racism, but empathy. Their struggles are huge and sad, and they are lucky to have you on their side. I hope that happens soon.

I am a bit gun shy, I called Hamas Nazis and now I am considered (the power of gossip in a closed eco-system when there are no contraints and I am not allowed to defend myself) a violent racist because of that comment. Sometimes it seems like you become a racist if you mention race.

Sadly, you are the innocent victim of a backash against Jews for defending their homeland. It is a terrible time for Israelis and a difficult time for those of us living in the Diaspora. We have appreciated your courage to take a stand against Hamas. It is all too rare in the world we now live in.

Well written Professor. While I was reading this thread, my eyes were blurred with tears but at the same time there was a moment of gratefulness to have such a kind and generous man as my Professor , who is willing to listen and understand the viewpoint of his students and willing to talk freely about it.
