Beneath the Negev Desert, there is a lot of water. Unfortunately, nature never consulted the Israelis about what they wanted in that water's composition. Much of the underground water is brackish and mineral-heavy, not immediately useful for agriculture. Actually not useful at all.

It reminds me of my Aunt Eileen, who thought the same about fresh chicken shit and houseplants. My aunt was staying with my uncle, and she thought that she’d juice up the houseplants with chicken shit.
She killed them all.
Sort of like what would happen if you dump this brackish water on your crops.
Many people would stop there.
I would have stopped. But I’m the type who, even with fertilizer, sprinklers and expensive grass seed, can’t get my lawn to fill in.
But back to the Negev - the Israelis? They began raising fish in it.
