Muslim Feelings Are Still Sacrosanct at the University of Guelph, Humber College, the University of Toronto and Sheridan College
The University of Toronto has just shown us what it does about antisemitic imagery in a lecture hall. The University of Guelph has shown us what it does about an antisemitic professor — and what it does to the man who complained about him.
Yesterday, the University of Toronto’s Provost, Trevor Young, wrote to the Faculty of Dentistry. The letter is a model of institutional language, so let me translate it into outcomes.

Dean Anil Kishen used two images in his lecture slides. One showed a hooked-nosed man reclining in a swimming pool full of money, labelled “IMMUNITY.” The other showed a figure bound with rope and an Israeli flag — the Star of David whitened out — its head painted in the colours of the Palestinian flag, used to illustrate a dental concept with “strangulation” in its name. The university engaged an external investigator. The findings, per the Provost’s letter: Dr. Kishen “did not intend to promote antisemitism,” and “had limited knowledge about antisemitic imagery and tropes.” But — and credit where it is due — the letter does not hide behind the intent finding: “The University has found that the slides contain antisemitic imagery.”
Now walk through the “he didn’t know” defence, because it is the rotten heart of this.
Look at the two images above and judge for yourself. A figure wallowing in a pit of money, labelled IMMUNITY. A man bound in rope and an Israeli flag, his head painted in Palestinian colours, offered as the illustration of strangulation.
The external investigator concluded that the Dean of Dentistry “did not intend to promote antisemitism” and had “limited knowledge” of these tropes. Limited knowledge?
The man is not ten years old. He has not lived in a cave. There is no educated adult in the Western world — let alone the dean of a professional faculty, a man who has spent his life in universities — who does not know what a Jew in a pool of money means, or what it means to bind a figure in Israel’s flag and call it strangulation.
The ignorance finding is not a finding at all; it is a courtesy, one institution extending another a ladder to climb down. And the University of Toronto seized it, because seizing it was the whole design: concede the images are antisemitic — how could they not, when the whole country had seen them — agree the dean meant no harm, prescribe a training course, wait a year, restore everything.
That was not an investigation into what happened. It was a calculation, from the first day, of the maximum the university could get away with. What defence will Toronto accept next — a professor goose-stepping down Yonge Street, explaining that nobody had told him Nazis were offensive?
And the sanction? He steps down as Dean, effective immediately. He has taken cultural training. And then — the sentence that tells you the whole story — “Dr. Kishen will remain a tenured faculty member at the University of Toronto. He will return to the full scope of faculty duties in the 2027–28 academic year.”
He lost the chair. He kept the job, the tenure, the salary, and the students. A year at reduced duties, some training, and full restoration. And mark this: the demotion is small, and in the way of these institutions probably temporary — give it a few quiet years and they will try to sneak him back into a dean’s chair, or something very like it, once no one is watching.
This is token discipline — enough to issue a letter about, not enough to cost the man anything that matters — and it is token because they got caught.
And notice how it happened. Nobody at the University of Toronto caught this on its own. It was Jewish students who complained — about slides their dean had used over and over, lecture after lecture. Are we really to believe nobody had ever seen them before?
Then the university may choose between two possibilities, and both are indictments. Either the University of Toronto knew its dean was teaching with medieval antisemitic imagery and did nothing until it got caught — or cohort after cohort of dentistry students sat in that hall and watched Jews figured as parasites wallowing in money and as a strangler bound in Israel’s flag, decay in the body of society, and not one of them had a problem with it. That is where we are in this country.

Now let us look at the University of Guelph, and the case of Professor Wael Ramadan of Guelph-Humber and Sheridan College.
Ramadan reshared a comedy video that calls Jews “Satanists,” that says of Israelis, verbatim, “it is not really people, Israeli people,” and that jokes about taking Jewish skin — “their skin for your skin bank.”
On October 7, 2023, the day of the massacre, he posted in praise of a people “striving to be free” beneath an image of the bulldozer breaching the Gaza fence. His public feed, documented over two years, is a rolling festival of support for Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis; he has posted that there are no tunnels in Gaza. This is not a man caught with two ambiguous cartoons. This is a body of work. On top of this, he has a howling hatred for the West in general and celebrates violent dictators like Putin and Maduro, and is accused of running down Jews in class. All of this is publicly available.
THE POSTS THEY HAD NO PROBLEM WITH
These are the posts. The University of Guelph and Humber College had no problem with them. There are many more, some worse. Substack has length limits.
The now President of the University of Waterloo, Bill Rosehart, looked at these and said, “no problem,” but I will fire the professor/lecturer who complained about them; that’s reprisal!

What they had a problem with was the complaining. Jewish students complained about these posts, and a pro-Jewish professor complained about them — and that was when the institutions bestirred themselves: not against the posts, but against the people who objected to them.
They did not merely tolerate this material; by their conduct, they stood behind it. Look at what was acceptable. Then look at what was punished.

Complaints were filed. I filed one, through the university’s own human rights office. Two Jewish students filed complaints about the same material. Community members complained to Sheridan. My complaint was eventually compiled into a formal hate-propaganda assessment and sent to police hate-crime units and Jewish advocacy organizations.

What did the University of Guelph do? It did not condemn Ramadan. It did not discipline him, sanction him, or produce an investigation whose outcome anyone has ever seen. Ramadan teaches still. Instead of condemning him, the university fired me — for protesting his outright antisemitism.

Vashti Bagot, a Guelph-Humber staff member, posted in a student group chat within hours of my suspension — almost four weeks before I had been told why I was suspended: ‘someone high up in the university said “his actions was disgusting and he will be terminated
She was already assuring students that someone “high up” had pronounced my actions disgusting and my termination certain. Staff do not improvise errands like that: she was carrying a message, student to student, and the message was the verdict, delivered before any process existed. Melanie Spence Ariemma, the Senior Manager referenced, remains and has never been investigated. Bagot received no sanction; indeed, when I complained about her, her friends in law enforcement threatened me with police arrest. I have it all in writing.
Ontario’s WSIB later examined what was spread about me on that campus and called it, in allowing my claim for the psychological injury, “vexatious, egregious, and abusive.” And no one — not the staff who carried the lies, not the officials behind them — has ever paid any cost for any of it.
I am the complainant. In November 2023, I was suspended from Guelph-Humber, banished from campus, and gagged. The act that began it was not a lecture slide, not a public post, not a body of work. It was a single reply, on LinkedIn, to a man in Pakistan who had called for the eradication of Israel. He deleted his post. I deleted mine. The University of Guelph has never had a copy of either one.
To this day, the case against me rests on a cropped screenshot of my reply, with the context — the call to eradicate Israel that I was answering — cut out of the frame.
For that, management spread word the day I was suspended that I had assaulted a student and had a long criminal history — rumours Ontario’s Workplace Safety and Insurance Board later ruled were “vexatious, egregious, and abusive” and the predominant cause of my PTSD. The university’s own hired investigator eventually found the assault allegation not substantiated — essentially a rumour, in her words. I was fired anyway, in July 2025, and the ground given was “reprisal.”
Understand what that means, because it is the heart of this. I condemned a man whose material was compiled into a hate-propaganda assessment and sent to the police — and I was fired for it. That is not speculation. It is not embellishment. It is the official record: my termination letter cites reprisal, and the reprisal was my human-rights complaint about Wael Ramadan.
And they have gotten away with it. The University of Guelph, Humber College, and OPSEU have conducted themselves as if the Ontario Human Rights Code simply does not apply to them. They have cut a vicious swath through the collective agreements that are supposed to govern all of this — agreements they invoke when convenient and shred when not.
And then there is my union. To OPSEU’s deep and enduring shame: I paid that union some $15,000 in dues over my career. In return, it did nothing but insult me. From the first week, its people told me I was guilty of a hate crime and refused to meet with me. It refused to file my grievances — nineteen of them, signed, refused unopened. And a full year before I was fired, it officially withdrew all support.

OPSEU has never said she was disciplined. She kept her job.
But here is the obscenity at the centre of the system: even after withdrawing, OPSEU remained my only legal representative. That is how it works when you are unionized. Your union is your lawyer, your advocate, your only door to justice — by law, there is no other.
Even if your union refuses to represent you. Even if your union announces it supports management against you because it hates Israel. Even if its president makes public statements against Israel and pledges the union to the cause. Even if its own members espouse support for Hitler. You are still stuck with them. A representative who has abandoned you is, legally, the only representative you are permitted to have. And nobody — not the colleges, not the Board, not the union itself — sees a problem with this.
So now we come to December 1, and my hearing at the Ontario Labour Relations Board. Humber College and the University of Guelph have lined up on one side — and beside them, remarkably, sit OPSEU and CUPE, the two unions. Employers and unions are adversarial by the very nature of the relationship; that is the entire architecture of labour law. Against me, they have found perfect harmony.
THE BRAG — A fellow faculty member, Wael Ramadan, told a student, Ben France, that he would contact organizations and have their members write in demanding I be fired. Tens of thousands were reached.
Then he did it: this alert went out to CJPME’s members — and @StopZionistHate, and others. The University of Guelph and Humber College did nothing. They have no problem with a faculty member raising up a mob to attack a faculty member he has never met, but only provided that any besieged faculty member is a supporter of Israel. At the U of Guelph and Humber College, Israel supporters have no rights.
Anything goes against Jews at these institutions — under Melanie Spence-Ariemma, George Bragues and Bill Rosehart, a professor can openly foment a write-in campaign to get a Jewish supporting colleague fired, and no one lifts a finger.
What are they fighting for now? Not the merits—there are no merits, and they don't even have evidence; they never had a copy of the post. They are fighting to make sure I am not paid what I am owed under a paid suspension. They are fighting to make sure I am not reimbursed for benefits that were part of my collective agreement.
They have already destroyed my pension. Their defamation campaign was successful; old friends cross the street when they see me coming.
They are fighting to make sure I do not get a penny in severance. And for this, they are willing to pay seven lawyers at $700 an hour, working only four hours a week each on this file (7 × $700 × 4 = $19,600 a week), week after week, of public and members’ money — and four hours a week is a conservative estimate; in the weeks before a hearing, it will be far more.
All of it to crush one man whose crime was to offend the feelings of a professor reported to the police for hate propaganda, a man who has said the most disgusting things and should not be allowed anywhere near students or a classroom — except that Ramadan is their friend, and they are on his side.
The token discipline at the University of Toronto only hammers it home. Toronto found antisemitic imagery in its own dean’s slides and answered with a training course and a sabbatical. Guelph found a professor’s antisemitism documented for two years and answered by firing the man who reported it.
That is the reality of post-secondary education in this province now: a system in which Muslim feelings are sacrosanct, and Jews are inferior — and to be stepped on. The University of Guelph, Humber College and OPSEU do not merely tolerate antisemitism. Their conduct is driven by hatred of the person who dares to stand with the Jews — and they have never even had the evidence.

And that is why Toronto’s letter matters beyond Toronto. Toronto’s Jewish students complained, and a dean lost his chair — token discipline, delivered only because the university got caught, but a response.
Guelph’s Jewish students complained too, and so did a professor. The response was his termination. One system moved, grudgingly, for its Jewish students. The other moved, with enthusiasm, against its Jewish complainants. Hold the two letters side by side — Toronto’s and my termination letter — and you have the state of the Canadian university in a single frame.
I should never have been suspended. I should certainly never have been fired. And the next time a Canadian university issues a statement about its commitment to fighting antisemitism, ask it one question: what happened to the last man who filed a complaint?
So weigh the costs, because the universities have. Anil Kishen put caricatured Jews — monsters out of a propaganda cartoon — in front of his classes and, by the accounts that surfaced, he did it year after year: these were his teaching materials, used over and over.
And his cost, when he was finally caught, was a dean’s title and a training course. He keeps his tenure, his salary and his classroom, and returns to the full scope of his duties in 2027–28.
That is the University of Toronto saying it plainly: our hand was caught in the cookie jar, so here is a token effort — and even the most obvious, deliberate denigration of Jews, we will let go.
Now weigh the other side. Answer a man who called for the eradication of the seven million Jews of Israel. Do it in a reply nobody at the university ever saw distributed, under a post that no longer exists, in words the university cannot even produce. Let the case rest on rumour and a cropped screenshot, and on the word of the man you answered, who ran to the university demanding you be fired.
For that you are suspended without charges, banished, gagged, investigated by a lawyer who concedes she could not see the posts your own complaint was about — and fired. Fired for “reprisal” against a professor whose posts are reproduced above. And when you fight back, there are now millions spent - not to establish any truth - but to exhaust one man who would not stop complaining.
Beneath it all sits the sentence nobody says aloud: we do not approve of antisemitism. Nobody believes it. Not about the University of Toronto, not about the University of Guelph, not about Humber College, and certainly not about Sheridan College, where Wael Ramadan still teaches.
Whatever their statements say, their actions speak very loudly.
This sordid anti-Semitic abuse of process, defamation and violent attack on one man because he said he stood with Israel and condemned Hamas should not be forgotten. The guilty have not been touched; they continue in their roles, and Ramadan, a man who should not be allowed to corrupt and inculcate the minds of undergraduates with his hate propaganda, continues to teach without any repercussions at all.
At least they were not able to send me to Devil’s Island as they did with Dreyfus, but you know that if Ramadan had his way, I wouldn’t even be alive. Look at the man’s social media presence; he is a deranged ball of Jew hate.

I admit that I could not read the entire post but being familiar with the extraordinary and nefarious circumstances behind your situation I fully support you and hope that legal action results in a substantial settlement. Canada generally has become a cesspool in every sphere and we all know why. I fully support Jews and Israel.
