A Note on Compassion and Christianity
I’ve been deeply concerned reading so many of the reactions — especially from people calling themselves Christians — after Charlie Kirk was assassinated.
Instead of responding with compassion to a young man murdered in front of his wife and children, many rushed to attack him for what they imagined were his “views.” Misrepresentations. Misstatements. Oversimplifications. In truth, defamation of a dead man.
Their behaviour is not Christian. It is the opposite. Their pursuit of the so-called “social gospel” is not Christianity at all, but social activism dressed up with dishonest layers of Christian motifs, words, and language.
