Still have the ghosts of our previous companions with me even if they are only my memories . but like most memories they are the good ones . Enjoy the walks with our companion creatures of habit it gives me at least a dose of humility . May I suggest a harness with a back pack for the poop bag (never liked choking my pals holding them back from doing silly things ) . let them carry their on poop back just don't forget to empty the pouch .Whew

I love dogs and dog stories. My Aussie just turned two and is sleeping on the bed beside me and Roland, the 9 month old who is now twice her size already, farted while I was reading this and drove me from the room. I had to find a lighter to get a candle going.

Whilst waking my daughter's huge, playful 14 month old golden retriever I discovered that if I clip the lead around my waist I don't end up on the ground so easily.

He forgets he's on his lead and just takes off to greet whatever dog he sees.

They're such a joy though and although I moaned pretty much each day beforegirsong my loins for the walk, I missed our daily walks and park runs when our daughter came back.

Their love and loyalty is a joy.

Delightful rendition of walkies!! A couple additional notes: the turning different directions before peeing on something; (in my case) the desire to decimate and eat any other dog, no matter how large, that have the audacity to exist on their walk; me hiding the dogs behind cars or up driveways to distract them from seeing those other dogs. May I suggest leashes that have velcro for your wrist? Lifesaver. Gooby.com. I get no money from that advertisement - one of my previous dogs slipped out of my hand and bit my neighbor. Gooby also has great harnesses. Handy for small dogs in case you need to suddenly pick them up. Thx for the note about the coyote stick!
